Asda’s Place on da’ Internet

the first day at work went very well, (I now work for Youth Voices FM as the station Manager) apart from i was locked out the studio for 30 minutes, as Bruce had forgotton to give me the studio key as well as the key to reception!  Anyway, once that was sorted, I pulled the studio apart, well and truely. I will have to post some pics, as the studio doesn’t look the same any more. I took down all the shelves, dumped all the rubbish in Studio Reception (Even though the cleaners are putting up a protest, due to the mess!)

There is still a long way to go with the studio refurbishment, as we still have the following jobs still outstanding:

The works on the Computer Network are starting after the weekend, when the server is going to be installed and setup. This is a major job and will take several days to setup. The server room itself is located in the studio at the moment, sue to the lack of space. I am planning to move the servers onto the shelves (as they are not that heavy) and will be out the way, but will allow me to remotely control them from a workstation, using SSH (Secure Socket Handler) However, I am going to need to get some longer network cables to connect the network equiptment.

 I am not sure when the electrical work will comence, but I do know that it is a high priority, as everything is on 4 extention cords, which are connected in such a way, that it makes them dangerous! So I have moaned at bruce to get it done ASAP. The same goes for the flashing alarm beacon as well.
